nursery

This weekend was a great weekend for our family. Maggie came to Mitchell on Thursday with my g-ma and g-pa Yusten and then my mother came on Saturday. They waited in Mitchell for Duane and Tanner to meet them (they were coming from the state track meet) and then they headed to Wagner. We worked the entire weekend on our baby room and mom was great!!! Her van was full of things for the baby room. She brought the crib, changing table, rocker, ottoman, table, and different misc. things for the room with her. It’s a good thing she was by herself because there is no way anyone else could’ve fit into that van. She is such a great grammy already. Michael was in charge of the spray paint and I think he is still digging white paint out of his nose. We had a great time though and it was good mother-daughter bonding time. The only bad news from the weekend is that on the way home Duane hit a deer and destroyed the van. Everyone is ok and their insurance will cover the damage, but that’s not fun at all. All-in-all it was a good Memorial weekend for us.

Please notice the new addition to the page. My sister, Miranda, added a countdown to the left. It is pretty cool so enjoy.

baby room

We finally broke ground in the baby’s room last night. Michael and I were sitting around getting bored with each other and about 9:30 we decided to go tape off the room to get it ready to paint. Once we got done taping we decided that we should just start painting and get the first coat on. We woke up this morning at 6:30 and started on the second coat. So the painting is done for now (we still have the trim to do but we have to let the rest dry). Now we just have to wait until Memorial weekend when my mom is going to come and bring the crib, changing table, rocker, and a little table and help us decorate the room to get it closer to being ready. I am at the point in my pregnancy where I am starting to get bored with it all and I just want a little baby in my arms today. So getting the room ready is either going to make me worse or make things better for me because I will actually be doing something for the baby. I guess we will find out soon enough.

posture problems

I’m finding more and more that I have terrible posture. When I try to sit the top of my stomach will start to hurt really badly. The worst part is that I am only in my 26th week. That means that I have to put up with this for 14 more weeks. I thought that I wasn’t supposed to get too uncomfortable until my last month or something, guess I was wrong. Also right now Michael and I are having a contest to see whose back hurts the worst. He just started his summer job on Tuesday and already hurt his back. Poor little guy, we just hope that it is nothing serious. He did have a herniated disc three years ago so let’s hope it’s nothing like that. Talk about bad luck, it was within his first hour and a half of work. I guess he didn’t stay in very good shape over the winter, just kidding hun.

19 week ultrasound

Baby Koupal at 19 weeks. Posted by Hello

Here is another ultrasound picture of baby Koupal at 19 weeks. This one you can see a little better. It is the head and shoulder of the baby.

Baby Koupal yawning at 24 weeks. Posted by Hello

Well, another appointment and another update. The doctor once again did an ultrasound and the baby was STILL stubborn and wouldn't show the doctor his/her upper lip. The doctor just wants to see it to make sure that everything is ok and there won't be any surprises when it is born (clef lip). He also still could not tell if it was a boy or a girl, so at least we have a modest little baby. He did say that we need to teach our baby "ultrasound etiquette" but I'm not sure how we can really help with that right now. While he was doing the ultrasound he shook my belly to try to get the baby to move, he even had me lay on my side…nothing. So that Koupal side (the stubbornness) is really coming out in our baby during our ultrasounds. The appointment was great and all is well though. I feel the baby move often (almost every two hours) and Michael is starting to be able to feel it on the outside of my belly more consistently. He can feel the big kicks but he has not been able to feel the little movements just yet. I guess that will come with time when the baby gets bigger and has nowhere to move but out. I am pretty sure that my belly button is going to pop any day. I am getting pretty big and definitely cannot wear my old cloths anymore. This Saturday I will start my 25th week so I am just rolling right along. Just think, only 3 more months until I will have a little baby in my arms. That is so exciting. And 3 more months until I will have sleepless nights, spit and puke on all of my cloths, no time to clean, dishes piling up…some days I would like to wait :) We are very excited and keep counting the days down.
