city girl turned farm girl

Yesterday we went out to the farm to help Michael's dad sort his heifers. I've done it before and never really thought twice about it but this time was very different. Whenever they start to run at you you have to make a lot of movement and scare them back to where they were coming from. However, this time I was very scared and uncomfortable doing it considering I am carrying our baby. Eventually I just went and sat on the corner post and let the men do it. I’m not sure how much they appreciated that, but I was not about to sacrifice our baby for those darn heifers. I think a lot of you guys would be surprised about how much I know and do on the farm with Michael and his dad. At first I think they just took me out there for entertainment purposes (because I was so dumb and didn’t know anything or how to do anything) but now I actually help and drive the tractors and whatnot. I’m pretty impressed by myself out there. Right now Michael is yelling at me because he wants to get out to the farm again and I am stalling terribly. Guess I better obey the boss.

ultrasound--04.06.2005

Well, we had our ultrasound and the doctor said that everything looked good. He checked for everything and anything so that makes us feel really good about it all. It was a very nervous day for me that day but once it was over I was so relieved. He said that our little baby is stubborn already though, he was trying to check for clef-lip and the baby had its head flexed down towards my back and wouldn’t move it so the doctor couldn’t check. Miranda said that it must have it and be ashamed so it was hiding, I sure hope not. And for the stubbornness, that has to be from the Koupal side because we all know that I don’t have any of that in me. Anyway, I am in my 21st week now and everything is going really good, with the exception of the occasional pain in my side from a foot or an arm in the wrong place. We are so excited though and Michael felt it move for the first time the other day and just thought it was the coolest thing ever. The baby weighed in at 11oz and was in the 17th percentile, so it will be a very average size baby but I’m guessing it will be pretty long. August 20th is just around the corner now.

fun

I have a blog now so let the fun begin. I will try to post to this from time to time but it will not be as often as my sister who does nothing at work except mess around on the internet. Love ya sis!
